Shearing Day

In mid March, Red Clay Farm held their annual shearing day, the community was invited to come and watch the shearing of llamas and alpacas as well as purchase yarn or fiber if they wanted to.  For the past few years I have covered this event with the Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L  lens. The reason for this selection is because the lens can cover a wide focal length from wide angle photos to medium telephoto, perfect for this type of event.  While I sometimes wish the lens was slightly wider I do not switch lenses because of the very dusty conditions of the barn as the animals and people shearing them make the air heavy with dust at times.  Hope you enjoy the photos. 🙂
